Alhambra oil pump failures: FACT OR FICTION

Afternoon folk! I'm buying an Alhambra 2.0 pd tdi on a 58 plate. I've been reading alot of stories regarding the failure of the oil pump. In particular 'Honest John', i'm guessing that he branded all 2.0 pd tdi, although having searched the net there doesn't seem to be a problem with the alhambra, is the alhambra safe from this failure

I didn't come up with any evidence to suggest it was an issue when I bought mine a year ago.

That sounds like good news, it probably a few incidents which have been blown out of proportion, the 2.0 PD tdi seem to power many makes, not just in the VAG group.
