Our tyres on the front of the altea have now done over 15 k and in a few months will need replacement.. I don't mind paying the rather expensive £90 each inc fitting if they really are the best for the car.
But do other cheaper brands eg Dunlop etc suit the car and last similar mileages
Thanks Paul

National Tyres have bogof on Avon and Barum(own brand) tyres. I have the Avon on the rear had no problems in the wet or snow. They are about £90 fitted, check website, so you'll get 2 for that. I've just bought one 2 weeks ago on special for £62 locally, I'd have got the 2 if the offer had been on. Never mind.

Goodyear Eagle F1GSD-3's - brilliant wet tyre, very good and smooth in the dry too. one of the best, very reasonable now as they have just been replaced with a new Goodyear design instead (Eagle assymetric).

Mine are sat in the back of the car at the moment!! Ready fitted!!
I am finding it really hard to find somewhere that will fit mail-order tyres!!

i've been offered 4 pirelli P7's s/h only done 500 miles for £150 .. then gotta add £10 each for fitting .. I would pick them up so delivery isn't an extra cost .. I said yes to the bloke but having 2nd thoughts now as that would work out to £50 per tyre inc fitting .. any comments?

I had Pirelli tires on a car once. Never again. Wet weather they were terrible. I think I took 'em off after a similar amount of time to the bloke you're buying from.

After 65k miles / 2 1/2 years, I'm finding that Dunlops are the best all rounders on my 140 Sport, good in the wet & not too noisy. Had Avons on the front once, 3k miles they were 1mm off the wear blocks! Swapped them to the back & put the Dunlops on the front. I get about 9k out of the Dunlops (D9000 Sport) - quite good for me, chipped to 170bhp & a company car so it has it hard! (Leon in my sig is the wifes!)
