OK, so sorry for running ANOTHER tyre thread, Ive read hundreds and still cant decide, so its over to the good folk of SCN to make a decision for me, whichever tyre wins the poll, I will buy.

WHICH TYRE WOULD YOU BUY OUT OF THESE??

I know people will suggest this tyre and that tyre, but this is my short list based on the opinions I've read on here. I can get all three at sensible money, so its down to performance, lifespan and road noise.

Cheers all.

soz....was still sorting the poll....its there now!

NB: All these tyres get good and bad reviews, except for the uniroyals, for which I can only find good comments, so if anyone has used them, be good to hear what you think.

Thanks again.

Place locally in MK are fitting ZE912 225 40 18 XL for 70 quid a corner! Got 4 fitted today to replace the 452s i'd been using the last two times and they're just as good if not better and cheaper!

They were £65 each when I bought Falkens a couple of years ago. Won't be buying them again. Loud and crashy compared to Goodyear Asyms and Dunlop Sport Maxx.

Thinking of Toyo TR-1 or Goodyear GSD3s this time.

Tried GSD3 - great until they rubbed themselves out
Tried T1S - same as above
Tried Goodyear Assym ...... - rubbed out een faster than either of the above.

<3500 miles from a set of tyres no matter how good they might be is just not fun. Falkens do just as good a job and i think i'd run out of skill long before i found the limits of the tyres.

I voted goodyears but the uniroyals are cracking tyres also and a lot better at clearing standing water which this bloody place seems to get regardless of season.

Defected!
I spent ages looking into buying the best (not cheapest) tyres, trawled through the forum, started a thread, spoke to dealers, read magazine reveiws, etc etc. I went for the F1's and I'm glad I did. They have fantastic grip wet or dry and I've done roughly 3500 miles on them and they're showing no signs of wear. Make sure you use the correct pressures and get a four wheel alignment done. I was also told to make sure you get the German made XL ones although to be honest I have'nt come across any other type. You definately need to shop around too, my quotes ranged from £475 for four to over £700.

AAAAHHHHH!!!!:censored:

How can someone comment on tyres when they
1 Haven't tried them all
2 Haven't used these properly
3 Haven't fully tested them?????

Read scientific reviews, thats the best information you can get apart from someone like Fester who has ripped through them all[:@]
