Hi guys

got the inevitable bubbling on the rear arches and both sills & want to nip it in the bud before it get's to bad.

Who's had this done and what did they pay, I'm only looking for a ballpark figure so I know I don't get strung up!

Also anyone know anywhere in Essex/N Kent/East London Area that can do it WELL!

Cheers

I treated my Cordy and Ibiza arches luckily before the rust became visible on the quarter panel. I took the wheels off, arch liners out, throughly cleaned the insides of the arches, used a thin wire brush and attacked the rust, wet and dried the arch edges so they were smooth and ready for paint, masked up and applied loads of Hammerite!

It took no more than a day and cost no more than £20 for paint, brushes, wet & dry, brake cleaner (for cleaning before painting), masking tape and a box of gloves!

I have just done both rear arches as they were showing signs of rust.
I removed the rear liners, cleared out all the rubbish (ten years worth) with a screwdriver and wire brush, then used waxoil to seal the arches.
For the arch lips I took them back to bare metal with a sand paper type flapper wheel in an electric drill.
Then I used a rust killer to treat the surface and then painted with red oxide primer, and finally with grey primer.
This just leaves me to spray the lips in the right colour.
Before I refitted the liners I filled the inside of the arch lips with grease to stop any more water/ dirt getting at them.
Hope this helps
