Are the front and rear standard speakers the same???

I recently upgraded my rear speakers to some 6" JBL's, which has helped the sound quality a bit, but just noticed that my drivers side front door speaker isn't working at all (the tweeter is, just not the main door speaker).

I cant really afford a nice set of components to go up front at the moment, so i'm asking if one of the 6 inch standard speakers I took out of the rear is the same as the 6 inch ones at the front, so I could put it in place of the buggered one?

Just incase anyone else was wondering this, i have answered my own thread...

Yes, the rears do fit in the holes of the front, but they are not the same speakers. The rears have a secondary smaller cone where as the fronts dont, and the magnet is about half the size of the meatier fronts.

They do however fit and the connectors are compatible so it'll do as a temp fix untill i get some half decent replacement components fitted.

Funny you say this, I just got my speakers replaced. Main reason was my driver door speaker stopped working but tweeter worked fine. Strange that
