I need a bit of help.. im looking into getting another ibiza after i sell on my own one.. but heres the problem I cant decide whether to go for a 100bhp 1.4 or the 100bhp 1.9 its either going to be 2007 or 2008 model.. im aware theres diffrent versions like the dab, formula sport etc etc but i know next to nothing about them..

So i need the good people of SEATCUPRA.NET to help me out.. tell me the advantages and disadvantages of both.. Past experiences good or bad.. just as much info as possible cheers guys..:)

Get the diesel

The throttle lag on the 1.4 alone would piss me off, followed by the slowness of it

I agree the diesel will drive so much better.
Any reason you are not looking at the higher power engines? Insurance?

i think il be going with diesel so, well id love a 130 brake fr but im in ireland and there rare as **** only seen two for sale but i think there sold.. if i really wanted one i could go down the road of importing one but to much bother.. another reason is insurance.. im so surprised they so expensive to insure for what they are..

U would only need a remap to see those gains you can get remaps now for around 150-300 without rolling roads these are just made maps I would suggest spending 450-500 on a map where they put ur car on the rolling road its a much better map and u will probably see more than 130 this way

Of those two options I'd go for the PD100 TDI.

I don't know the figures, but I'd bet the PD100 would smash the 1.4 on torque figures. To quote an old saying, horsepower sells the car, torque wins the race.

Tdi 100. Cheaper to tax, cheaper to insure and a little bit quicker. With a remap you won't be disappointed you will get in the region of 140bhp
