There is an AFS/cornering control module inside the headlamp, it's a very thin black box that's sometimes attached to the bulb cover. This could be faulty or the wires could be loose. If it's faulty you can get replacements on eBay.

Other than that there is a headlight adjuster in there too, I've not seen that sold separately but I'll double check the catalogue for you.

Ok you can buy both parts from the dealer, headlight adjuster is 1P0941295B and the AFS module is 7L6941329A.

If you know someone with access to diagnostic tools, plug it in and see if there are any fault codes logged.

Good luck!

Sorry if these sound like obvious/silly questions...

When you fitted the motor, did you work the mechanism by hand to see if it was working?
Did you click the end of the adjuster into the mechanism?
Have you had it scanned with a code reader?

I fitted the 2012 LED headlights to my 2010 car last weekend, and the system logged all of my mistakes! When I forgot to plug one of them in I got errors on the dash and on VCDS. Hopefully a scan will tell you what to look at next. Good luck.

As far as I'm aware, the ballast above provides the power for the xenon bulb. The cornering function is done by the AFS module which sits behind the bulb (thin black box) and the levelling is done by this module: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-A4-...807737&hash=item1c9f3b719f:g:ANsAAOSwRQxaaGAq

A scan with a good reader will tell you the part number of the faulty component. I use VCDS, it cost me £270 but it's worth its weight in gold.

Sorry for the delay in coming back to you.

If you have/have access to VCDS you should be able to code the module in a matter of minutes. If you don't it might be worth speaking with your local VW specialist to see if they have VCDS and how much they'd charge. Some VW and Audi forums have VCDS databases so you can find someone in your area that'll look at it for a few quid.

Hi guys I know this thread was some years ago but I am having some problems with my standard xenons on my seat exeo, bulbs are working on low beam (but very very poor output) the beam seem to be pushed to the left on the left hand side and to the right on the right hand side, when I flick to full beam you can see a slight flash but not getting any brighter or change in brightness, i ran diognostics and got a couple of codes which I will attach pics, if anyone has any advice that would be much appreciated, thanks

When the AFS module gets a fault, it takes the insane action of pointing your headlights inwards and down!! You would have thought a better "stock" position would be centred and low. But anyways, this was caused by water ingress in my xenons which shorted the AFS module. The big issue is, if that is the case, you need to find and stop the water getting in before replacing the modules as they aren't cheap.

Thanks for your reply

soreplaced my battery today and there was loads of water under the battery tray not sure if this is a cause but I noticed water build up under neath the passenger side headlight, thinking maybethe water could of been leeking from there down..?! I have now learnt aboutdrawing water from under tray, I scanned with a decent obdeleven and it came up with below codes so thinking about replacing module...any ideas or knowledge in this wouldbe greatly appreciated,

thanks Andy
