Bias valve?

So does the Cordoba 16v have a bias valve or not? I'm only wondering as when I bled the rear brakes not much fluid came out when opening the calipers. SO wondering if the valve was causing that. It has ABS so I naver bothered looking before. Might jack the rear up again tonight and have a look. But not really sure what I'm looking for, presumably something with the hard lines going into on the beam?

my ibiza had the load valve, which adjusted the braking depending on load over the rear beam.
but it also had abs. didn't thin it had one on the cordoba, but worth a look.

edit,if you have a Haynes manual it's pictured in there pete, looks like a safety pin type spring with a plate with a nut/bolt through it.

there 100% wasn't one on my Coupe, which was of that age, and had ABS, they work against each other.

I'm wondering either if the MC isn't up to the job (which is odd, as I thought they were the same as ICR callipers) or there's a leak somewhere, as the pedal was not too bad when I left.

Well the calipers can't be much different to the ICR ones, and I looking at vagcat the ICR doesn't use a bigger MC than the normal Mk3 and the Mk3 MC is the same part number as Mk2.

It didn't get any worse than when you left, in fact it's slightly better now. Maybe I'm just spoilt as I've not driven it for so long and the brake pedal has a nice feel in the LCR.

pete,is it sponginess in the pedal,or pedal flexing in the box?
mine went a bit spongy just before it went snap!so no load valve on the cordoba? was the 1.816v the only one then?maybe the older 2ltr gti too perhaps?

mine hasn't and the valve block (ali bit) was blocked on a rear output too don't panic if it is as they are pretty standard (the ecu is different) 2001 toledo one on mine

if you haven't got abs and use the right master cylinder you don't get/need one with rear discs the only cars i have seen them on is rear drum brake models screwed to the pipe joiners

saying that the abs models are always a pain in the arse to bleed anyway I've got new pipes/hoses calipers pads/discs master cylinder and abs solenoids on mine and bled it 4 times and still doesn't feel right to me
