silly question but im due to change me brake disc and was wondering how do i know what size they are? can any body tell me?

so im looking for 288mm but whats best 12mm 0r 25mm? (told you i was thick:D) forgot to say that they are for the rear does that make a difference?

Rear discs are unvented and are one of three possible sizes. 255x10mm, 286x12mm, or 260x12mm. Measure the diameter of your existing discs and match them to these dimensions.

ill message dave, one last question, what caliper rewind tool do i buy as looking on the web they say left handed or right handed tools??? too confusing for me:D
