Camshaft Position Sensor G40

Hi all, it appears my car needs the sensor replacing on my 2008 FR TDI. However, it appears to be a bigger job than I anticipated. Has anyone else replaced one please? How did you tackle it? Is there a short cut? Easy option? Thanks
