Camshaft replacement

I need a new camshaft on my 04 leon TDI cupra.

Just wondering what would be a reasonable price to get the job done.

Has anyone had to do this?? How much did it cost?

Had mine done recently, list of parts stole off ukmk4's although thesee prices have gone up now.

The parts required are (prices approximate genuine VW inc VAT and part numbers genuine VW but check them before ordering)

1) Cam 038 109 101 R £385
2) Followers (8 off) 038 109 309 C £22 each
3) Cam belt kit 038 198 119 A £105
4) Water pump 038 121 011 KX £35
5) Cam oil seal 038 103 085 C £18
6) Cam bearing shells (10 off) 038 103 673 B GLB £5 each
7) Cam cap bolts (10 off) 038 103 714 £4 each
Cool Injector rocker arms (2 off) 038 109 527 AF £120 each
9) Injector arms bolts (8 off) 038 103 714 A £5 each
10) Injector ball pins WHT 001 516 £1 each
11) Tandem pump seals 038 198 293 or 038 145 215 £5.50
12) EGR pipe gaskets 038 131 547 A and 069 131 547 D, £3 each
13) EGR/flap to manifold seal N 909 273 02 £3
14) EGR pipe to manifold nuts N 902 002 01 £2 each
15) G12 coolant approx £12
16) Oil filter 074 115 562 £6
17) Top quality PD oil around £40

So that’s £1200 of parts and add to this at least a full days labour (it takes me just over a day) by someone with the special tools required such as cam pulley puller, torque angle protractor (for the bolts and rocker arm setting) plus a dial gauge and the all important PD locking tools.
