Does anyone else have this display issue on the Now Playing screen when using CarPlay? Affects both Music and Podcasts where it squashes that middle line of text. This is my third car with CarPlay, never seen this before in any of them.

Bummer, it's kind of annoying. Will just need to stick to the dashboard view then so it doesn't drive me up the wall

Yep. I do the exact same thing because it winds me up.
Or if I'm not using maps and just listening to music, I go back to the Cupra home screen rather than stay on carplay.

Another quirk of the rushed out infotainment.

Why would this be an issue caused by Seat?
This screen is generated by Apple, the infotainment is just a display to display the phone generated 'images' and a touch screen.

What could cause this is the combination of resolution and screen size to which Apple has to adapt to.

It’s a seat issue. It still relies on their own software and connection to generate the link.

I have 2 other cars with wireless CarPlay. Neither have the issue with the same phone.

it’s just seat/ cupra shoddy infotainment at work.

Yeah I've used the same phone on a Mazda 6 and 3 series BMW in recent weeks and they both display CarPlay fine. Definitely a SEAT problem.

I raised this issue via DM with Seat UK on Twitter and they say it's the first time they've heard of it.

I'd ask that anyone else experiencing it pings them about it too. If we make enough noise it might get bumped up the priority list!

Pretty sure it's a Spotify / CarPlay problem

Only thing the infotainment system really does are showing what the app tells Apple CarPlay to show, i've had the issue too

I had an SR with Spotify about this before, and they said it was definitely Seat that was the cause.

What version of iOS?

I'm pretty sure I don't have it anymore, but I'll confirm it on the next drive.

Happens with all media streaming apps, and carplay shows correctly on every other car I connect to.

That leaves seat. And an infotainment system that has been nutoriously plagued with issues since launch....

My cars in at seat next week for warranty on other issues, I'll mention this to them then.

Seat just has nothing to do with what is displayed on the monitor... The screen resizing is all apple or the application developer...

It could be that Apple CarPlay resizes the screen wrongly and that is what causes the glitch

Could be a Seat firmware release difference if some Seat people have it and others don't. Either the font resizing is done in the phone or in the car. Thread points to the car, so if some get it and others don't then it's the firmware in the car if you got all the same hardware. Case of pass the parcel.

iOS 15.4 dev beta does the same too. I sent a bug report to Apple. We'll see how they replay.

Basically Seat throws everything related to CarPlay onto software developers (Apple, Waze, Spotify, etc.). Be it scaling, lags, artifacts, or even a wireless connection - it doesn't matter, it's all the fault of others, not Seat.
