If it's below peak torque your probably right. I will try seeing if there are any similar experiences in Portuguese forums.

A few photos of my attempt at an EVRY mod...

First one showing hows the connectors I bought, and the resistor soldered in parallel (before being covered in insulation tape!)

..and just to show where in the engine bay it lives...when the engine cover is popped on, it's hidden from view.

IIRC I'm using a parallel 900ohm resistor, which I think presents an overall resistance of 420-430 ohm when it's at full temp.
I think if it's having any effect it's probably fairly mild - it RR'd yesterday at 171bhp/290lbft, but I'd estimated the ABT chip was giving in mid 160s anyway on it's own. There might be a bit more scope for lower resistances but I don't want to go too far and produce too much smoke.

They were pretty cheap too; both plugs with sets of wires came to about £7 IIRC from a VW dealer.

I've heard that you have to way-up your boost with this mod if you're running something above a 90hp non-PD, or else you just smoke (a friend who has a severely-modded non-PD with the Evry from a local club told me this).

Yes, you'll get alot more smoke, but the idea of the mod is to do something cheap. Increasing boost means chipping or remaping, which I don't really think is good idea. This is my personally view obviously, but if you go with an agressive map your pulling fueling to the limit (usually for the 130&150 PD mechanical injector limit) making the EVRY mod not worth while.
