A minor issue.
Sitting waiting on time to go collect grandson with engine switched off and just listening to radio keeping eye on time
Did not realise that the clock had stopped. Luckily checked mobile.

I am sure that did not happen in last car.

Intriguing.

Did you have the Ignition on, maybe with the engine running, or off.

Guy

PS> I have no knowledge of either situation, I'm simply trying to eliminate options.

Did it re-start at the correct time when you turned on the ignition / started the car next?

Wasn't the 20 minute power down on all electrics in the car... we say "all", read as most. If the infotainment screen was on, after 20 minutes of power with ignition off it turns itself off. I guess if you managed to show the clock it would do the same. The clock isn't a screen I use. This is mib2 behaviour. Reckon you have a mib2, but probably the mib3 works the same.

Yes updates when ignition back on. Just risky if I forget sitting waiting to go in for appointment
Tut tut. I never use the big clock feature.

If it's one of those vehicles with the start button you can just press that without putting your foot on the brake to start it and it will keep the system live but good to check that other stuff isn't live like the DLRs. It's how some office workers sit in their cars on lunch breaks listening to the radio without it cutting out after the 20 minutes. No big button, it's a turn the key 1/2 way round. Been a while on that one.
