Afternoon all.
Im looking at doing the clutch on my car at some point.
It seems fine at the moment and had one already in its 16 year life. But quite a few years (and owners) ago.
At the moment im a mechanic but looking at a career change soon hopefully.
And obviously its free labour if i do it. But more importantly, i know most of the garages in my area and dont trust the quality of any of their work.
Just getting the car ready for when i cant do it myself.

Only a quick, simple question.
Does the subframe need removing or unbolting?
Or can the box come out with the subframe in situ?
Cheers Rich

There is a plenty of space to pull out the gearbox dont worry.
Once you go below the car everyrhing will be clear to you :)

Dont do it untill its really needed. Wait for the slip in boost rpms or wait until the clutch press is extremely hard. Dont make yourself a work without a need for it

My clutch destroyed itself tootling along the motorway at 70 on Christmas Eve. No warning and it has only done 75k!

75k for the clutch on the cars like these (meaning their purpose and type of driving) is totally okay...
