Glad your running smoother buddy. :D
I guess the driveshaft could be down to the engine surging on a broken mount under the load.

Mine is a smooth as silk when driving even under hard conditions its just the bloody rocking when you stop at the lights.

yeah, the car is ALOT nicer to drive now that its not shaking as much, although it still is a diesel. might go for sum cupra bushes soon, am sure the standard FR ones will wear out soon enough with the lowered coilovers.

I had a look under the bonnet the other day and it quite worring just how much the engine was rocking back and forth, must have been moving a couple of inches in each direction. I could even steady it down quite a bit by just placing a hand on the plastic cover and leaning on it. But doing this seemed to put more shudder through the body (if that make sense)

I was putting air in the tyres and you could see the whole body rocking back and forth half an inch on the suspension. :(

If it did not go so well i would trade it in next year as this really annoys me, however i drove on the M25 today and was so impressed by the performance pulling on the slip road, amazing for a 1.9 .

yeah after having mine remapped it drives like a dream, pulls in every gear strong and pick up is amazing!

yours is rocking like mine was before i had the flywheel replaced, before i replaced the flywheel i just replaced the engine mount under the battery, this didnt stop the rocking... slightly could say made it worse... but it makes sense. the old mount was broken on 1 part.

its deffinatly worth getting the flywheel replaced before it damages anything else i.e the gearbox, driveshaft, engine mounts ect.

does your clutch go light and heavy at times?

No its always light.

Ive followed a couple of long threads on other vag forums whereupon the flywheel has been replaced and after 6 month the rocking has crept back. Mine has only got 7800 miles and its done this from new so iam not sure a new DMF is my answer.

It kills me that just a light touch on the gas settles things down or putting on the aircon which means its most likley a fueling issue, ie: running too weak or unbalanced at idle. Someone once said you could look at this with a VAG com but no one seems to know how ?

I really think that next year iam going to purchase another throttle pedal and take it apart to see if its possible to make some kind of adjustment to its rest position (ie insert a shim) to increase the tick over every so slightly. If i **** it up i can always put the orig one back in.
