Clutch issues

Hi all so I have a 2005 leon tdi and the clutch pedal wasnt returning to its position and felt like the pressure was low so i replaced the clutch master cylinder and bleed the system and it was spot on but its slowly going back to how it was where you need to pump the pedal sometimes for the clutch to return all the way up. Would a faulty slave cylinder cause this?
Any info will be good
Thanks

Are you losing brake fluid?
Have a look underneath at the join between the engine and box.
If brake fluid is leaking out, the slave cylinder is definitely toast.

Hello mate
I cant see any fluid leaking from the gearbox at all, I thought if the slave had gone I'd be seeing fluid leaking
Very odd

Odd indeed.
The symptoms seem to be low fluid level/air in the system.
Have you checked the reservoir to make sure the clutch take off pipe is still below the fluid level?

I had a similar problem recently. I'm not sure if the tdi has the same bleeder type as my cupra, but there is a t-piece near the slave cylinder with a bleeder valve on it. Check to see if it's wet around the bleed nippe. Give it a wiggle if you need to.

I changed my slave cylinder, clutch while I was there, then the master cylinder, until I found out it was this thing. If it is don't even bother trying to replace the o-rings like I did for more frustration. It's about £20 second hand on ebay if it's your problem. Just make sure to go off part number and check the connection type, the replacement was slightly different for me, but it came with the different pipe attached.
