2013 1.4 Tsi, 49000 miles, on pulling away under load first gear I’ve started to get a strong vibration through the clutch pedal, to me it felt like a worn clutch but a local VWAG specialist took a drive and didn’t seem to think it was an issue and was just the engine labouring a bit, all I know is that it feels different to how it used to, should I be worried or just something to monitor??

That used to indicate a worn clutch throwout bearing/arm or uneven diaphragm.
If he says it's OK I'd do nothing and monitor it.
If he says it's OK I'd do nothing and monitor it.
