Its not a bad job to do, worse bit I guess is either bleeding it out or connecting the pipes back up in the engine bay.

Whats the symptoms if you dont mind me asking?

After about 1hr on the motorway went to change from 6th to 5th and pedal went to the floor, pumped it several times and normal function returned.
This happened a couple more times on the same day.

The problem has not reoccurred in over 700 miles but, I would like to be prepared to change it if need be in the future.
I know it’s symptomatic of other probs such as slave cylinder or sticky release bearing, but I think the master cylinder change would my first action being the easiest option.

Sorry fella the garage did mine for about 140 quid including parts, but the next day it was back for the Slave which is inside the gearbox housing, needless to say a nice bill of around £500 for both jobs was waiting for me on collection!

If you having to pump the clutch every morning it sounds more like a slave cylinder/release bearing sadly, much bigger job as the gearbox has to come out.
