Hi,

I have a coolant leak at the water pump, the car has 126.000KM and the next cambelt change is at 180.000KM.
It goes from max to min in 2000KM or so, and apparently it is getting worse, so may I ask what would you do?

1 - Change only the water pump 347.76€
2 - Change the whole kit (cambelt, water pump, etc) 623.54€
3 - Stay as it is and check it frequently and hope it lasts untill the next cambelt change.

It is an Ibiza 1.4 16V (2008). Does anyone know if it warns when the coolant level is low or only when it heats up?

Thank you!

From what I recall, the warning light light only comes on when the engine is too hot, almost game over too hot (?)

Those prices seem a bit steep for a cambelt & pump change... Mine was only £300 for the lot, ~450€

Most of the cost in changing the waterpump (+/- cambelt) is the labour involved, (cambelt replacement is £250, or cambelt+waterpump is £300 at local prices) so I'd get them both done together rather than pay for the labour twice.
