Cruise control on a LCR

Has anyone fitted cruise to their LCR???
I followed a fitting guide for a mk 4 Golf which went very well, until i noticed that there is'nt any cables from the ECU to the connection block that you connect into according to the Golf guide:(

I have asked my local dealer and they just shruged their shoulders and said that CC is'nt an option for the LCR:mad:

Thanks for your speady replies;)

I have read the discussions after doing my own search but these don't tell me much:(

As i said i have spoke to my dealer, i have also spoke to Stealth and they didn't seem too helpful. They just wanted me to bring it in. This would be fine if they were'nt so far away (4 hour minimum round trip:( ).

I have done the installation myself so far and just want to complete it. I assume that people must be using a different loom to the mk4 Golf that i used. Where can i get this loom from?????

oh and by the way j r you'll love it,just been to durham and back on the A1 used it for most of the journey v relaxing top mod imho, and saves you fuel wierd on hills it keeps the speed to the preset, and when you go down a hill it maintains it exactly,so you dont have to watch your speed,oh and you,ve also got 2 accelaraters instead of one heheehe:D

Its costing me enough for the Milltek, the Cruise will have to wait for a little while. :)

Yep, when the 225 was launched on the Spanish website, they showed its dash and it had a CC stalk fitted, the new style liek you see on some new Audi's, but seems to be the same old story, what they get in Europe is usually not what we get here.

WHich is wrong really, as its already been said many time, the UK is the most demanding sector for the Leon Cupra R, so really we should get everything they offer for it.

Its not the new style, i think that was on the new Ibiza, or maybe im confusing myself cause i was looking at NEW A3's a lot before i bought the R.

Anyway, its defo on SEAT's site.

Thanks Vern.

I have VAG Com so it shouldn't be a problem to activate (he say's:( ).
All i need really is where to connect to on the ECU, which of these four cables go where. Might have a look at the ECU to see if this is obvious, if the numbers relate to the ones i have connected into the connection block i'm laughing.

Need to know before i have a look (if you can remember Vern) how the cables connect to the ECU, ie. solder, special clips etc. Coz if it's soldered i am better off getting somone else to sort it.

It's so annoying being so close but yet so far:(

Seat Apprentice - can you give me some more details ? What exactly will they fit and how much will it cost ? Southampton is a bit far from me (Berkshire) but if i know what they are offering then i will speak to my local dealers (Datchet or Caversham).

Got some info from Great Covert....

"We have fitted cruise control to the new model Ibiza, Cordoba and Leon, however, we have not yet tried on a Cupra R !
Providing the installation is similar to the standard LEON the cost is £ 299.00 inc VAT

Advance booking would be required, to ensure that all components required are available."

I asked about the warranty..

Obviously, anything added to the vehicle after manufacture, and not supplied by the original manufacturer would not be included within the vehicle warranty. Additionally, any components that fail as a result of any addition / modification would not be covered by the vehicle warranty.

However, we use all SEAT components as fitted to these vehicles in other countries, and as such would be warranted for the manufacturers minimum warranty of 1 year. The implications with the vehicle warranty we would consider of limited concern, due to the general reliability of the components used.

Pretty clear then i think !!! The only bad point is the price, as you can get it done alot cheaper at places like Awesome GTI.
