Quick question - has anybody else seen this or worst still suffered this? So my N/S/F brake calliper has the “full” outlined and filled in CUPRA sticker/decal on it however my O/S/F brake callipers has only the outline of the wording CUPRA on it - see pictures. Any ideas??

I have seen it before, I've heard of cleaning chemicals doing it like they spray on at car washes etc or it might be getting hotter on that one , is there more of a lip on the disc that side ?

Hi Tara, yeah I thought it may have something to do with the “acid” wheel cleaners that may have been used on the car (only had the car for two months so don’t know much about it’s history ?) - that said I would’ve thought it would have affected both callipers not just one. No evident lip on the disc on that side and no visible signs of excessive/ higher temps either - car brakes straight and true ruling out a sticking calliper in my mind. Can’t imagine replacement SEAT decals available and certainly haven’t got a steady enough hand to paint in the silver ??

You can get replacement decals - EZMods do them in a range of different colours and they stick over the existing decals.

Possibly one side has faded from sunlight dependant how the car has been parked, maybe one side always parked in sunlight and the other in shade

They don’t like being sprayed with brake/clutch cleaner either.

Remember making a right mess of a painted set of callipers in my youth when I thought that it would save a bit of time cleaning them up. Once you ****-up one side, you tend to leave the other one alone!

OEM part numbers are here if you need to replace:

Could be sunlight or even heat.. maybe that side is sticking.

We took a brand new Cupra out at Magello that belonged to SEAT Motorsport Italia a few years ago, after about 25 laps the calipers were pink.

That's weird. As I've noticed on a previous car the calipers look a bit darker after racing, as the heat cooks the paint a little.

So update on the callipers - got in touch with the guy’s @ EZM and decided on black filling with a white border - followed the instructions implicitly and here are the pictures - just for the record neither calliper sticking or the car being parked in the sun (??) - more than likely to be wheel cleaner chemicals but not 100% sure. In my opinion the new stickers suit the callipers and look great against the wheels - ??
