Anyone else had an EPC Particulate filter warning on the Cupra fitted with the GPF yet? Or am I just the lucky one? Car says to refer to owners manual, but the only directions are for what appears to be the DPF regeneration requirements.

Scanned with VCDS this evening and there are a few codes - worryingly VCDS refers to a diesel particulate filter fault code!

Codes are:

1. 37543 Diesel Particulate Filter / P2463 00 [109] Excessive Soot Accumulation

2. 38433 - Particulate Filter Bank 1 / P1A91 00 [047] - Indicator Lamp Active

Assuming you car is under warranty still no ? Get it booked in and repaired under warranty I would say.

Could be down to short journeys ? Sensor fault or a gpf itself ?

Managed to sort it. The instructions in the 2018 owner's manual supplied with the vehicle were incorrect and are for the Diesel DPF. I've downloaded the 2019 owner's manual and it has the following instructions:

It's been in for some warranty paint work, but I imagine has been left idling or doing lots of short runs over the past 3 days. 70 mph, then coast to 60 mph in gear (i.e. no eco mode) several times managed remove the warning.

No. But no Need to worry. Just make a clean error and drive more Open road

U can try make a force clean dpf with the car stop. But that not Will clean your scoot level never. The ONLY way to clean it its if u take it from the car and clean

It is not a dpf and not a diesel fuelled car!!! It is the gasoline/petrol equivalent only fitted from 2018 onwards.

The dealer technicians and I couldn’t clear the fault originally using the instructions in the 2018 manual (2000+ rpm, gearbox in sport, 37+ mph for 15 mins). It did work using the amended instruction that I posted above.

Also, by the very nature of the emissions codes the DTCs can’t just be erased. I expect that the coding can be modified so that the warnings do not show or are recorded though.

Also, according to the various literature/forums it only uses a passive regen and not an active (forced regen like the diesel). As you can see calculated soot levels are now zero too.
