What does a cupra 210bhp standard do on the rollers to the wheels ?
Just curious as mine was supposed to have the oettinger chip on and it only made 211bhp on awesome gti rollers.
I phoned the place what did it and they have informed me that there is no possible way to turn this off as this chip is soldiered to the ecu.
So the only thing i can think of is that the ecu as been sold and a standard one fitted or that the chip as dislodge it self.
Can u guys tell me where the ecu is and what chip i would be looking for.
For example how would i tell what chip as be soled on as my old passat they removed that chip and just soldered one in its place

as above. thats no chip you have there mate, more like a resistor telling the ecu its cold and chucks in more fuel. 1.99 ebay job

No mate if u read up on oettinger this the fist company what started to do this
back in 2003 they specially designed the chip just for these engines and are a very big German company all others just copied the program and added there own bits.

seems very strange when you can get a remap that suits your car rather than a chip that fits all, its never going to be as good, thats why you made 211, i made 217 without any mapping on my 210

That's y i am asking as Most remaps give about 250bhp
I do not know the full history of the car i just have a load of receipts and that for work done.
The bloke who i spoke to said that this was done buy the main dealers as a optional extra and cost up to a £1000 pounds
He might have sold the ecu to another lcr owner and had is ecu in return.

well from reading on the online shop part, the chip plugs into the ecu port;
Recalibration of the engine management - via Directport

The only reason i ask as i want to get her remap in january now if i take it to a company and they can not do it will they charge me anyway?

210 bhp AT THE WHEELS is about right for a stage 1 lcr thats mapped,

260 circa is at the flywheel

if you go to a good mapper, lets say bill at badger5 he would tell you whats what, im sure he would not charge if he didnt carry out the work.

power still seems a little bit at clutch / flywheel power @ 230odd bhp

i'd be wanting to do some further investigation into your ecu... see what this chip is all about

that transmission loss looks too low for me, its usually around the 12-18% mark on FWD, which i would say calculations for at the flywheel was wrong,

for horses at the wheels of 211bhp id expect 250bhp at the fly which would be about right, its not massively out but 211bhp youre claiming is at the wheels,

Like i say i have no idea what's going on is she chipped or not
Dont want to spend over £300 quid to find she is.
