I think my cupra r is running hot.

Is it normal for the engine to get really hot, as in the fan kicks in within seconds of coming to a stop, can hear it in the car

And the temp gauge also can hit 3/4 when then stood still

Yes plenty of coolant

I have on order a crankshaft sensor (to solve another issue) and thought I may as well order a cool ant temp sensor too

But I guess it isn't normal for them to run that hot

Unless you've given the car a spanking and come to a standstill then no, it's not normal for the fans to kick in so quickly, or for the temp gauge to read as high as you've mentioned.

No this can be when cruising around too. And also when giving the car a spanking

Any suggestions

I think you've done right in ordering the temp sensors, that would have been my first guess after confirming the coolant level is right.

Get them fitted and see if it resolves the issue.

Okay, should be fitting them Sunday. Will report back

Going to flush the coolant to and put fresh in.

Hope it sorts the problem as I don't want it to do any damage to the engine

If the fan is cutting in I'd say you will be fine to be honest.

Obviously you want it sorted though so there wouldn't be any harm in putting new coolant in, not sure which one it needs to be, worth checking first before you buy some though, I think it's G12 but check first.

Okay thanks,

Also had a bit of heat soak the other day when I checked as the air filter was warm to touch
