CUPRA is pushing the limits with its most radical interpretation of an urban electric car. The race car mixes pure electrification, sustainability and performance with the exciting aesthetics of the virtual world. The CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept gives an idea of the future design language of the urban electric vehicle, which will be launched in 2025.

Racing is at the core of CUPRA’s DNA and that’s why the company decided to present the vision of its 100% all-electric urban vehicle first as a race car with bold and sharp looks: the CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept.

“The CUPRA UrbanRebel Concept is a radical interpretation of the company’s urban electric car, due to be launched in 2025. This racing concept gives an idea of the design language of the future street-car and will inspire its creation. The urban electric car is a key strategic project not only for our company, but also for the Volkswagen Group, as our aim is to produce more than 500,000 urban...

Looks sweet doesn't it. Shame it's so long to wait for the road version.
The road version will have be toned down in looks and performance, otherwise it will cost far too much for the average CUPRA buyer. We need around 4.5 -5 secs to 60 and approx £40,000 max if they want us out of our petrol cars.

It's meant to be an urban car!

0-60 in 8+ seconds & a price well under £30k is what is needed to convince those wanting an urban car to buy.

How many private buyers spend
£40k+ on car to use locally?

"The urban electric car will democratise and make accessible electromobility to the masses.” and produce 500,000 per year.

Not at £40k+

Still waiting for an corsa/fiesta/fabia/etc replacement at less than £25k; then electric sales can really increase.

Agree; it’s a B segment car - it’ll need to be priced below £30k to appeal to the target market which will be Ibiza, Polo, Fabia, A1 (and similar) buyers.

VW has intimated its forthcoming ID.2all (the equivalent of the Cupra Raval / UrbanRebel) will be priced at under €25k (approx £21,700); if it is, then it should be competitively priced compared to other competitor’s B segment EV’s, although I dare say at that price it may not include some of the ‘must have’ options / functionality that some owners expect to see as standard. It’s likely it’ll be possible to retro-add some of that missing functionality by paying an activation fee and then a monthly subscription payment, as that seems to be the direction that car manufacturers are heading (BMW have started doing this).

What is the point of CUPRA then, as SEAT was all ready providing cars for ordinary joe. I thought they were supposed to be making sporty cars a bit quicker than SEAT, thats why you only get a Leon FR now and not a Leon Cupra. If the electric CUPRAs are not quicker than the electric SEATs or CUPRA petrol's, then I think it's all a waste of time.

At that performance it may be Urban, but certainly not a Rebel, I thought CUPRA was all about the image, Imagine if Hells Angels all rode around on 50cc mopeds. o_O

Cupra now not all about performance - Cupra Leon with 1.5TSi (150) engine!
Yeh, and when that 1.5 was first introduced many folk questioned why CUPRA had gone that way, as it was just the same performance as the SEAT Leon FR. Hardly a hot hatch which CUPRA (which stands for Cup Racing) should be promoting, when it was supposed to be the new sporty brand, as it just devalues the name.
