Am i right in thinking that my coil packs are still under the (extended) 5 year warranty?

My car was first registerd on 28/09/2001 so i should be covered untill 28/09/2006 right?

Anyone else had SEAT change the coil packs under warranty, do they just change the faulty one or will they change all four?

Mine are revision 'G'

Hi
Yes they are covered for 5 years.
I have Customer Services head woman confirm this to me about a year ago.
I have heard though of a few dealers trying to charge for the honor of replacing them though.
Well done sounds like you have found a good dealer there.

Yeah i think i was lucky there :D Its just a shame they won't replace all four as they are all 'G's and likely to fail sometime soon.

4? all on #1cyl?

all the ones which blew on were what letter? 2 x G I know of

Its 3 in total: (all 'G's)

The original one, the 1st one i had off you, then last night the 2nd one i had off you went. TBH i actually didnt check which cylinder it was  I was to :censored: off to open the bonnet, just drove straight to SEAT. Hopefully they'll put a later revision part in there for me, then if that goes we got problems

EDIT: Just like to add that the coil packs 'ibizacupra' gave me were 2nd hand items and were G revisions so i wasnt expecting them to last forever. Just a quick fix on short notice. (Cheers Bill) :D

SEAT replaced 2 coils, not sure why as only 1 had gone. Havnt had chance to check what revision they are but hopefully they'll be ok.

Anyone know where i stand with SEAT if the same coils go again, will they do it under warranty again?

How much is the extended 5 year warranty.
Just had a coil pack go on mine, cost me £95 to fix including fitting - did I get screwed?

Hi
The coils are automaticlly covered in to a 5th year of warranty.
So it could be that yes you have been.
But it only covers 1 type of coil.
What engine do you have , year and car?
Then if it is that particular one then it should have been done FOC.
If you have any concerns get in touch with Customer Care.
If you have the said part then all 4 can be replaced even if they are not faulty at the time.

It is always worth a check

I'm 80% sure that all 4 of mine were rev G, the 1 blew the other week and SEAT replaced 2 under waranty. Worth double checking though will have a look later :)

Ouch!!! it only cost me about £120 to buy all 4 of mine, and as for fitting them its childs play. I replaced all mine just as a precaution.

VAG extended the warranty on coil packs to 5 years. Yours should have been covered (unless they weren't replaced at a dealer..............)

Each part was £39, and then £39 labour plus tax. Only had them replace it as I had no idea what it was - may have better idea for future now.
