Dash cam connecting

Hi folks from a newbie,has anyone managed to wire up a dashcam to a switched feed and if so how.My passat was easy to do as the fuse box was just under the dash,thanks.

My dashcam is powered from the OVD socket. It’s a switched unit that allows recording when parked and has a cut off so that it doesn’t take excessive power from the battery.

That may be an option.Mine is a Mio with sat nav and the consumptions quite high and blew a normal dc to usb adaptor in a couple of days.Is the Halford one the normal mini usb type,I couldn't see any rating on it so it may only be suitable for the Black vue.

Here’s more info on the power connector. I’m sure it should connect to any cam with the same power socket.

Now I have had time to have a good nosey I have found a convenient tap off point in the fuse box under the dash so all sorted without any outlay,thanks for all suggestions.
