day time lights

Have a Leon 2012 just bought it and for the life in me cant find out how to get the daytime running lights on the car has xenon headlights looked in the book cant find any info
Any help please

I don't have Xenons, but in my MFD under lights & vision theres an option to enable/disable daytime running lights.

I didn't have that option till i enabled the DRLs with vagcom - but with you having Xenons I'd assume it should already be there?

I've also got a 2012 model with the xenon lights and you can change the Daytime Running Lights setting in the MFD. Here's a short video I did that shows where the option is...

If you don't have this option then I can only assume your MFD is running on an older software version.

I think ones from partsulike also work. I'm thinking about replacing mine with LEDs too.

thanks for the replys and links to video's re day time running lights the dealer has had the car in to try and get the drl lights working but now tells me they are not on my car ?? and the system SEAT use can not put this function on
How come others have this and not me ?

If you're car is 2012 and has xenons then I thought it should have DRLs? Could you take a picture of your headlight then it will be obvious if they are in or not.

Sorry cant post a photo on the add it says leon hatchback TDI CR Ecomotive SE Copa 5dr 1.6 2012 comes with climate control cruise control sat nav Bluetooth xenon headlights front cornering fog lights etc
In the MFD it has no mention of DRL but has all the other files as in the youtube vid

Get someone to operate your lights as you watch lenses. You should see a sidelight, and the xenon for dipped and main. The drl should be in the same reflector as the sidelight and above it. This bulb should not light when "normal" lights are operated. If you do not have this bulb then you do not have drl's, hence the reason it's not in the mfd. And you'll need a chat with the dealer who sold the car.

As a 2012 car it definitely should have xenons, so it makes you wonder why it doesn't...

Also, it probably wouldn't state DRLs on the ad as its not an 'option' it's a standard feature on the car. Although I guess it could be in the safety section of the ad.

Just been to look side lights on bulb light at the bottom bulb above not light head lights on same side light bulb on plus bulb with silver end type cover on full beam all bulbs light ??

With just the side lights on its just the bottom outer bulb that's light
With the dip beam on same side light on plus the main bulb (with a silver cover on the end )
On full beam side light dip beam and the bulb above the side light all on
Any better >

The Bi-Xenon headlights with DRL were an optional extra on the SE Copa so it sounds like yours didn't have that option fitted.

Do your lights look like this?

or this?

Note the different appearance of the main beam headlight in the centre. The one in the first image is a standard headlight without DRL and the ones second image are Bi-Xenon headlights with DRL. I suspect yours are probably like the one in the first image which would explain why you don't have DRL.
