Disabling alarm on Ibiza cupra 6J chassis

Having problems with alarm going off on my mates cupra,

its the standard VAG one, but it has a clifford fitted too, the clifford is working fine but the VAG one keeps going off, he wants me to "remove it" as he's sick of it going off.

I'm guessing all I can do is disable it in VAG com or recode it from an anti theft controller to a central locking controller or something

any ideas?

Edit mean 6K? chassis

Its the standard VAG alarm thats going off all the time, not the Clifford. the Clifford was going off untill I realigned the bonnet switch

I ran Cliffnet Pro v2.2 on the car and used the 8 event monitor. that told me the bonnet trigger was a frequent trigger, tested the inputs and it was sometimes saying the bonnet was open when it wasnt.

That said when I found the clifford alarm ecu to plug in the wizard interface it isnt quite installed to VSIB standards, never mind my standards! but I dont think its the Clifford at fault and the car was bought with the Clifford already fitted.

Tried using the ultrasonic bypass button biut it still goes off, going to hook it up to vag com and see if theres any fault codes, but my mate wants me to remove the VAG alarm, I told him I'm not sure thats possible, but it may be possible to deactivate it or recode so it stops being an alarm and thinks ots a Central Locking controller or something

Basically want to alter the coding of the unit to change it from
Part No. Description
6K0 962 258 E central locking control unit with radio wave remote control for vehicles with anti-theft alarm system and interior monitoring

to

Part No. Description
6K0 962 258 D central locking control unit with radio wave remote control

but as I havent used VAG com before I dont want to damage anything.

What I meant was it sounds like the Clifford hasnt been fitted properly and its conflicting with the standard alarm. Never understood why people add extra alarms to them when the standard alarm is perfectly good and has a CAT 2 transponder immobilizer anyhow.

Your talking about changing the control unit rather than just coding, different part numbers.

Pretty sure the 6J uses long coding for the convienance system anyhow so you need VCDS with the long coding helper and just untick alarm at a guess.

Ahh, yeah I think its that or a duff alarm unit, I dont understand people adding these systems either as its only got prox and turbo timer output over the SEAT system

I know there part no.s but I dont know the coding for them and I thought it was a 6J but its a 6K '99? R reg, does that make a difference

Read the original long coding of control module #09.
Copy it to the long coding helper.

Move to byte 12 and check if the bit 0 is set to 0.
If it is change it to 1.

Copy the modified long coding, and write it back to the control module.

Not sure if it works, but you can try it.

Write down your original coding before you try it.
