I agree it can look/sound chavvy - our Toledo makes a loud tssscchh when booted, and we're getting a FMIC so will probably make it even louder. We have a carbonio induction kit on it, which must be whats causing it to sound so loud as we had the same DV (Forge 007)on the Cupra R we used to have and all you could here from that was the turbo spooling up.

I dont really wanna get rid of the induction kit as it makes a nice throaty grunt when you put your foot down which. I just drive the car slowly through built up areas, which is probably best practice anyway. I blame Punto GT's, RS Turbo's etc.. etc... etc... for making the wooshy noise synonimous (sp?) with Chavs

same here oz

Mine makes a whistle noise, i'm far from a chav. I just like the noise.

I'll take a flaming, but it's all down to the individual imho.

I'm revo'd, with a dyna twist and 007p etc. Inside the car is loud as the feed is in the wing. If i wanted a loud dump i'd have bought a punto GT. I do like the sound but if its between having the shield on and no sound or having it off and uber heat soak.... its shield on for me.

I like the noise too, its not at all chav, its pathetic how people go on.

If the car was designed to use an atmos dv people would say they liked it....

Just an open filter in the inner wing, never liked my dynatwist...

Gave it time/miles too but just wasnt happy with it...others are, that was just me.

The open filter has felt spot on from day one, shouldnt suck hot air in either because its down inside the wing in the bumper.

Well i never got much Noise from the dynatwist, tried pipe to front, pipe in original place, pipe off etc.. Never took the case off cos that would just be pointless spending 160 smackers on a closed filter to open it up.

Btw, i payed 157 ish quid for my dynatwist, thought that was cheap.

Yeah thats well cheap. Mine was 209.99 but I only paid 9.99 from my money so it never really mattered in the end.

The noise I get is better than before but only just. Shame that

Well just give it a good try and see how you get on with it, like i say many people are happy with the Dynatwist and as said its only an airfilter at the end of the day, cant expect miracles lol.

But when they charge 200 quid you want summit

agreed when 200quid is alot of money for an air filter, think i paid 170 but iv seen em cheaper

as biggaz has mentioned the filter he has fitted, if u want a really loud blow off sound positioning the filter down in the bumper with a long intake pipe up to the maf, u will get a nice loud whoosh

typical one is the carbonio cai but i still dont believe that a real carbonio fits on the ibiza, but there are others, with smaller diameter intake pipes which can fit

as for the blow off sound, its just a 'go faster' sound, about as cool as a go faster stripe

does sound funny when my mate pulls up in his Golf which is fitted with a carbonio intake

I suppose these cars were not designed to make those noises as standard but as there is SO many possible upgrades for them i think the intention to have some noise was all there to be honest

If you upgrade the Dump Valve it is louder, if you get a different Induction Kit it gets louder, if you get it remapped it gets EVEN more louder, if you get a new TIP it gets louder still! All these things help anyway

I see a pattern emerging here, i think if done in the right way this car can NEVER sound chav

If you buy an actual Atmospheric Dump Valve then that would be chav because they are not made for the car so really your putting something 'False' on the car when it doesnt even need that to get that noise

I do believe that anything we put on our cars is personal preference though and that is why its not fair for us to really diss other peoples work to some extent

Oh and i wasnt saying any of us had dissed his or anyones car for that fact i was just saying in general, its ok to give opinions if you make it clear thats what they are, you know?

I run an open filter, I am looking at making a heat shield t reduce heat soak, but agree, with open filter the spool up is intense, and with a remap its one hell of a whistle too!

Almost a supercharger sound, with a dump lol

Mine is stupidly loud, even jonzy laughed at me when he was in his car next to mine. But i think its a case of mk4 tip, N75 and bypassed N249 that all adds up.
