It's possible. I've fitted about 5 or 6 modules over the years and so have loads of other people on here, I've never heard of this issue before or heard of anyone having a faulty module from new. First time for everything though.

Is the connector pushed fully home, they need more force than you might expect to fully lock. I did this on both my front locks after changing them, the new locks worked fine, but no puddle lights or warning buzzer from drivers and no puddle light and glove box light from the passengers. Ripped all the butyl seal back out and sorted the drivers door, but never bothered with the passenger side. If it isn't that then VCDS might find implausible signals on the central locking and give you a clue what's wrong.

I give up I’ve slacked cable off and still doesn’t do what it’s sposed to, oh well at least it locks and unlocks just not in the fashion it should , so I will b turning off anti hi jack and comfort locking, ( ps yes connecter fully on)
