Drivers Side Door Lock Not Opening - Remote

Hi, it's been a while since I was last here (long story about writing off my PD140), but anyway.... I've been asked to run an 09 FR petrol whilst someone is out of action.

The issue is that all the doors other than the drivers side opens via the remote. I've seen the youtube videos about drilling a hole, filling with WD40 and then working the lock until it unlocks via the remote.

Is this still the best option or would it just be easier to replace the unit itself?

After the WD40 I'd be looking to fill the unit with a silicon grease as a further backup to keep it working.

Thanks
Fishy

The WD40 trick worked for me on several locks.

Be aware that it might need overnight to fully soak in and free up, so don't panic if it doesn't fix the problem immediately.

I've got to do the WD-40 trick on my MK2 Leon on 3 doors ? it's a sound idea as the moving agent for WD-40 will evaporate and leave the oil in the long run ??

I did the WD40 fix about 3 or 4 years ago on my front passenger door and have had no problems since.
