DSG Issue? U0103?

Hi I’m wondering if anyone has any advice or suggestions for me to try, check or replace.
I drive a Seat Leon Fr 2017 2.0 TDI 184 DSG with 57K mileage and this morning on the commute to work everything was sound as a pound until I parked at work. Suddenly out of nowhere I get messages on my dash saying Gearbox Faulty stop vehicle safely and Fault: Electronic parking brake. I turned the ignition off and on tried moving out of park but won’t budge. As for the handbrake it seems to be fine despite the message on the dash. I then plugged in a basic obd scanner and got U0103 showing as the only error code, tried erasing but it comes back instantly.
Like I said everything was going smoothly until I parked at work this was a 5 mile commute. Baffled as to why it conveniently just came apparent as I parked at work.
I would appreciate any help with this as I know DSG diagnostics can be expensive.

Funnily enough it’s started working, something I’m going to have to keep an eye on. Checked both the fuses in the engine compartment and glove compartment all okay

And it’s started again, seems to be intermittent
Hello, did you manage to fix it? I’ve got the same problem, every now and then.. When I cycle igniton it’s all good, it returns to normal

Code stays stored as intermittent

Hi mate I did indeed fix it, what I did was strip out the housing for the gear selector and the Air Conditioning unit. Tutorials for these can be found on YouTube. I unplugged everything in that vicinity and sprayed them with electrical contact cleaner. (Also worth checking your fuses l, relays e.t.c.)

I also replaced the battery as I had seen somewhere that if your battery is like 5+ years old it may experience the odd voltage drop whilst driving and the gearbox won’t have enough electrical power so it custs out. When replacing the battery though you need to code it yourself using Carista, obdeleven or VW Software thing. All in all took me about 1hr 30mins and touch wood the issue has never come back. Oh and don’t forget to clear all codes.

Yeah mate defo try the electrical contact cleaning steps as I mentioned because I was researching and found that because of where the cupholders are placed and the Parking brake button e.t.c are in close proximity it’s possible liquid from spilled drinks even without you noticing can drip down onto cabling. So to cover myself I legit just unplugged everything and sprayed it. Good luck though mate.

Hey mate , thanks again for your input. Mine has manual handbrake and the cup holders are a bit far from the selector but as I bought the car used you never know what could’ve happened in the past. I’ll try that as soon as I have an opportunity. Thanks again mate.
