Hi chaps

Has anyone tried a Dtuk box on a cupra?

And if so what was your opinon?

Thanks Dan

I'd like to know if anyone has had one on a 290? I've heard the ecu is locked so can't be remapped yet

I have one on a manual my16 cupra which also has the ecu locked for remapping. Works fine and I've had it running on a couple of settings for half a year now. Really improves the car and how it responds. Nice how you can change the way the power is delivered. Ran it on 3+2 to begin with and then Andrew suggested 3+1 and it's a huge difference seems a lot more aggressive (I prefer it but some may not, more of a kick in the back than smooth delivery)

Also peace of mind for warranty work where it's removable and also transferable to next car.

I've had a couple of issues where my car has refused to start but I'm not sure if they're related however it's only happened after installation. Both times within the 6 months after leaving it for a couple minutes I tried again and it worked so I wouldn't let that put you off

Run it with vwr 600 and miltek catback

Yeah I managed in 10 mins with right tools. I don't have a jack up so I parked it on a high kerb and I could just squeeze under front. Tbh I don't care too much for mpg haha. I've got the car to drive it how it's meant to be driven otherwise I would've got a slower model. I average 25 mpg (never do motor way droving though, mainly town and a roads) I reckon it's stayed the same which isn't bad considering the box gives you a reason to give it the beans more often

Thanks piran. Had you run the car long before installing the box? Is it a noticeable difference?

As piran said a doddle to fit. Three connectors and wire up to battery. The dtuk box also come with a blanking plug so when it's due a service you can whip off the tuning box and replace with blank and leave all the cables in situ.
I'm not bothered about mpg as don't do many miles. I average low 30'smpg with a mix of mway and town driving which was the same pre tuning box. I might get round to trying the different maps soon but am very impressed by the linear delivery of the 3+2 setting I'm running now. Being under warranty and a lease car I didn't want the td1 flag with a remap so tuning box was perfect for my needs.

I had it without the box for a few months. There is definitely a noticeable difference, pulls much more right through the Rev range. Won't regret it! I didn't know about the blanking plug that's quite interesting. I'll have to check in my box because I can't remember seeing it

Haven't got my car yet but this might have to go on the list! Leasing as well so a box suits my needs. Will let the engine run in first though. Any issues with traction over 30 mph? I've seen some videos of standard cars and the traction light can seem to go up to about 30 mph then it's fine after that. I wouldn't want the traction flashing above that really when driving enthusiastically :)

Ha, it might be a bit difficult to explain the extra cables in the engine bay, i doubt my authorised dealer would accept them as something placed as engine garnish :D
I always remove it all when going for service.

I doubt they would refuse to service if they found extra cables in engine bay. Engine related Warranty work would be a different story and would be removed before the dealer visit.

Erm depends. In the dry if I'm in second and plant it I can sometimes get away without TC kicking in. In the wet I've had wheel spin in 3rd going about 60 :p again though in the dry it's no problem at all and you get used to how to control it in the wet. I've got the continental tyres on the front

Really thinking of a box but i heard if you take them of it can cause fuling problems is that true and if I put an induction kit on would that void the warranty ???

I can't comment on the fueling problems.

Regarding the induction kit, yes, if you do any modifications under the bonnet which aren't standard, they'll very likely void your warranty if they see it. The warranty covers the car as they sold it to you and the standard equipment.

I've got a DTUK box in my car (not a Cupra though, unfortunately) and I remove the box (and all wiring) every time the car goes into Seat, no matter what they're doing.

Hello,

Struggling to find the boost sensor at the front of my engine...is this the one? Connection at the bottom.

http://tinypic.com/r/2nkl2kj/9

Bottom boost sensor is on the 2.5" diameter plastic pipe from the intercooler, Its about level with the oil sump just below the air con pump.

The picture youve posted is in the right place and you can just see the end of the plug.:D
