Hi all

Got revo on the car on tuesday, and wow its great i love it. But this morning on way to work going down motorway 6th gear applied some of that lovely torque to overtake and it pulled away fine but at about 3200 the engine coughed ( i actually thought the wheel hit a cats eye at first) then a second later it did it again, then it let go, it started juddering rappidly sounded like a machine gun really fast. and at this point lost a lot of power. Oh ya and the engine mgt light blinked on and off too. The engine runs fine up to 3000 ish rpm then starts juddering it will rev through to max but doesnt like it, Engine light is not on now,
As usuall this could not happen at a worse time as iv loads of milage to do over xmas, and no where open to get parts.
I have a turbo xs recirc BOV,
P.s. could it be a n75 valve causing boost to be vented? if so can this valve be by- passed temperarily until i can get parts after xmas,. Can i switch off revo without sps unit, incase its the software?
SOS HELP................

Id say its more your Blow off Valve mate. The seat Vag lump doesnt like them!

Get the stock DV back on and see if that helps. If not find someone with an SPS to turn your revo off, or go back to tha place you bought it from and ask them nicely.

But i would say it was your BOV

Its a bit hit and miss with those ones, is it one you can adjust the 100% to atmos and recirc? If so turn it as far round as possible to recirc, or change it over to the normal DV and see if that helps.

If not get the Revo switched off

If not or if you can get someone to VAG COM it to find the fault

If not still im afraid its a dealer jobby as its probably a coil pack (very very common)

if it is the dual recirc/atmos dv it wont work at all

take it off and refit std DV or buy Forge 007P

could well be coil pack also

need a scan on vag-com or similar to read the fault codes

Yeah, I'll second that - coil pack(s)

You might find if you switch back to stock (If you have an SPS) it stops doing it - one of mine did.

You really need to vag-com it.

Im not sure how to tell what type of bov it is it was fitted to the car when i bought it, all i know is its a turbo xs, how would i know if its adjustable?

I will do a scan on vag com when i get home, if its coil packs will it come up in fault codes or will i have to go into measuring blocks?

Comes up as a fault code - if you do have any faults, post them up on here; someone will know what they are.

Sounds like it could be coil pack related, that causes misfires... Have yours ever been replaced? Doubt it's the dump valve if it's been fine all this time?
