Engine Ratting when Revving the car

Hi, when I rev the engine on my seat Leon 2.0 diesel the car has a persistent rattling noise and also has a rough idle. Any ideas what it could be?

Tensioner, the idle will be ruff due to the change in timing from your description sounds like a rattle from the chain of yours has a chain? I’m not familiar with your engine unfortunately so couldn’t say.

but if the idle is ruff your better off getting it recovered to your normal garage you use for work and have them check it before it potentially bends the valves. Something with unfortunately I am very familiar with

Hi, thanks for the reply. It’s on a belt not a chain and I believe the issue is bad injectors as they’re leaking and could be causing the rattle. I’m going to change them myself next week so hopefully that fixes it. Thanks
