Picked up 4 new coils from Audi on way home, they seemed surprised that Seat weren't replacing for free as they'd recalled all there's. Anyway got home fitted the new ones and connected everything back all seems well but im going to order some new spark plugs just incase. Any suggestions on type or part numbers?

picked up 4 ngk Laser Platinum plugs from Europarts on the way home yesterday fitted them and the new coils. Car seemed fine to begin with, however car has since gone back to missfiring. had it on VAGCOM on way to work keeping an eye on missfires and all 4 where having problems whilst driving and continued whilst parked up in the carpark.

Any suggestions from anyone to tackle this problem as im seriously getting jacked of with the car.

Hi,

I've a similar problem:

2007 Leon TDi: @ 2000rpm and 60mph in 5th, car chuggs slightly. When I accelerate the pick-up seems fine but when cruising problem comes back.

Vehicle has been dealer serviced since new every 10000 miles and cam-belt was changed @ 80000. Just had a new fuel filter fitted and initially felt ok but again when cruising chugging is back! After reading the thread I'm wondering if any other ideas other than the coils may come up.

Quick update - replaced all coil packs and spark plugs.

however still juddering/miss firing so booked it into Awesome GTI for them to have a look at it so dropped it with them weds night, rang them thursday see how they were getting on they had it on rolling road and no problems however the mechanic went out on the road and instantly started noticing the fault. they've been tweaking and playing withit since and checked all sensors and still cant find the prob so they rang me to inform me that they think its something internal. so now there going to start stripping engine down checking injectors and either sticky springs or valves.

It will be the injectors just my opinion the fault with them can't always be picked, or it could be carbon build up on the valves a good clean or a good blast could clear it up a little.

are the plugs the 4 pronged ones?
if they are they are not reccomended :(

stick with the oem seat plugs they are fine even on modded cars ;)

Just for information and hopefully will provide some assistance;

My chugging problem was caused by a damaged lower intercooler pipe causing an air leak into the induction system. Pipe replaced and all good (£150 to resolve it!)

Hope this is of help!:D

Hi robdf2,

It's the lower intercooler pipe on drivers side. Not sure of material though...invoice states parts as follows:

E1J0145769H 2 X 0.77p
E1K0145832b 1 X 49.39

Hope that helps ! :)

keep in there mate , i know how frustrating these things can be.
my local SEAT dealer took 6 months to diagnose a faulty valve in my cylinder head after been told numerous times there is nothing wrong ith my car , plus taking 13 weeks to change it because they didnt know how !

so 5 weeks may seem a lot but it could be worse mate !
just out of intrest what are they charging you? a daily rate or just time worked on the car?

cheers for the info jacko

Hi all

Another problem.

this does not happen at idle or on acclerarion its only on keeping the speed/rpm at a level i,e doing 30 mph in 4th or 3rd gear between 1500 rpm and 2500 rpm is when it feels most, it just feels like the car jerks slightly rpm needle fluctuates up and down about 50 to 100 rpms max at the moment, its not making the engine jump out the bonnet or anything but i know its there and its just started to happen.

Theres zero mods on the car and its just had its major 40 k service at seat 1500 miles ago.

Its booked into midland vw for weds morning.

any ideas what this could be? DV valve/spark plugs/coilpack etc.

You've described above exactly what my car is doing...............

It did it more aggressivly today and brought up a random misfire and cylinder 1 misfire error code on vag com. I think i'll give a coil pack a go on cylinder 1 and see if it cures it.

HEEEELP, mine does this too. Would they be covered under warranty? A vag scan at the dealer was clear but something's not right.
