exeo TDI rear exhaust box

I know this was a while ago now but Karmann what was left under the skin? I've heard it is a stainless steel metal. Mine is now beginning to go.

Hi Matt
Under the rotted outer skin was a solid looking exhaust box. I doubt it's stainless but providing it's not blowing who cares? Just pay attention to the welds where the pipe meets the box. If the weld is solid then you should be fine for a good while yet.

After a Sunday afternoon under my Exeo’s back end it’s now complete without it’s rusty exhaust outer covering and a wiz over with the wire brush on my drill and the stainless exhaust is nearly as good as new.
Ohhh and as others have said before there’s a VW Badge and part no now visible.
