Well the rear dampers have failed on my LCR (first noticed by Jock @ Westec) and have made the rear tyres - which aren't that worn go all lumpy which I think is causing a noticeable judder at high speed.

The dealers have agreed to replace the dampers but are saying that tyres aren't covered - despite the fact that they'd be fine if it wasn't for the failure of other parts under warranty.

Seat have turned down the warranty claim in the first instance but I'm now going persue it through their customer services... I don't know how far I'll get.

Just wondering if anyone else on here has been in the same situation and what my chances of getting some new rubber out of them will be.

funny one to gauge this

they could argue that as the driver you should inspect the tyres on a weekly basis

just playing devils advocate, although i know where you are coming from

Agreed, but to be honest unless it's jacked up and the wheels are spinning freely it's very hard to tell.

Also the previous owner had taken it into the dealers last summer due to a judder at speed and they'd said they couldn't find anything wrong and suggested the tracking but I've had that done and it's no better...

Yep had an ongoing problem that could not be located, dealer shrugged and scratched his head and didn't know what the issue was, eventually Bob at Westec noticed the problem.

In this period my car ran out of warranty, I went back to the dealer who said this was a new fault on the car and I was on my own as the warranty had run out.

Dealer also hinted that both the Dampers and the Tyres were consumables and as such not covered!

It was at this point I got out the plastic and fitted some decent coilovers
