Fan jet retrofit issues

Fitted fan jets today, non heated, like for like swap alternative part from eBay.
I'm getting a single plume of water on the screen and not a fan, the water seems to take a few seconds to appear and comes out at relatively low pressure.
Would you diagnose this as a crapped out pump or do you think these particular jets are just naff?
Pistol jets seemed to work as they should but also suffered 'water lag' having to wait 2 to 3ish seconds by which point the wipers were running over a dry screen

The lag I've experienced on all new VW's. Think it doesn't hold the washer fluid in the pipes to help prevent it freezing.

As for the spray, do they need adjusting up maybe? I've only ever fitted the genuine parts supplied by a dealer, so wondering if you've been given some dudds?

The lag is super annoying o_O
As for the fan spread, it's either dodgy jets or just not the right ones then, was worried with the lag that the pump speed may have dropped somehow. They are adjusted up as far as they go, having thought about it I may have them too high and hitting the lip of the bonnet.
I'm off outside with a microfiber and crossed fingers...

Yeah it may well be they're hitting the bonnet lip. They will hit the driver side wiper, I'm wondering if that is why they were not fitted as standard (unlike the Mk2).

You'll probably also notice they come through the passenger side first, this is due to the way the piping is routed. Odd, when for me the washer reservoir is on the drivers side..

100% duff jets.
Just a hideous gush a few inches up the screen even on max adjustment. Thank you knock off eBay purchase :p

How do I check if what I currently have is heated or not?

Heated will have water hose/pipe as well as cable and connector.
Connection point is on the RH side in this picture.

Non heated below for comparison

I ordered what were supposed to be OEM genuine ones, and they arrived in non descript packaging. Paid a premium too. The adjusters were different to OEM and they didn't fit or work like OEM. Sent them back and got another set that were genuine.
