I have a petrol 2012 leon s copa tsi and it has started making a fan noise after the engine has switched off which is causing my battery to die. Any ideas what this could be.

Well thats not really causing your battery to die.

i would imagine the battery needs replaced anyways.

fan running after engine is turned off just means the car is hot and it needs to cool down. It is normal. Will switch itself off when cool

How long does the fan run after switch off? Does it run until it flattens the battery or a short time to cool the engine? Might be an idea to get the battery tested if the fan is running only a short (normal)time?

Yeah I have noticed my Cupra often runs the fans after I stop, but it's usually only for 30 seconds or so (I usually hear it stop as I walk away from the car). Afaik it's normal.

I thought it was the fan as my battery has died twice and the fan is running for about 5 mins plus afterwards. It is at the garage now so fingers crossed it is not too expensive.
Thank you all for your help.
