Forge TIP Fitted - A damn tight fit

Fitted my Forge TIP 007p and vac hosing the other day, and oh boy is it a tight fit. Had to undo heater pipes on block and gear selector mechanism to get it on to the turbo. Took a bit to get the pipe on for charcoal filter that sits at the bottom near turbo as its close to the heater pipes and the rubber pipe is a very tight fit and had to manipulate the metal bit of the piping for it.
Happy with the results and can feel a slight difference, propbably more noticeable on a remapped car, which mine should be soon. Want to get all the basic stuff fitted first like turbo back exhaust, intercooler and dynatwist, boost gauges and propably a k03s before i get it remapped to save paying for mapping it twice.

Before

After

Before 2

After 2

Half way through doing

All Finished

How tight do you want it.

And before anyone says it I know my engine needs a good clean LOL

did a guide while i was at it ;)

Good guide Jase.

You make no mention of the difficulty getting your TIP past the metal water pipe that's near the bottom of the TIP and causes everyone so much trouble.

(The bodgers way round it seems to be to shorten the TIP where it goes on the turbo. I know you got it 2nd hand....... Has that TIP been trimmed ......... )

So you don't think you have a 13mm dia metal pipe running from the engine backwards - about 75 mm away from the turbo compressor inlet and height-wise about 15mm above the base of the compressor inlet?

You Skoda guys have it easy............:D

I undid the bolt that holds the heater pipes on towards the back of the block and then cable tied it back out of the way as much as I could towards the coolant reservoir.

Did the whole job on my drive with a jack and an axle stand took about 2 1/2 hours, thought I'd been supplied the wrong one at first due to the tightness. One of the fiddliest and hence hardest was getting the little rubber pipe connected to the metal pipe for the carcoal filter onto the TIP once fitted, had to do it from underneath in the end.

Would have been alot easier on a ramp at work but I couldn't wait that long lol.

We all know why it was so easy for Jase...it's because he's only 'ickle. It wouldn't surprise me if he managed to crawl under the car without jacking it up! ;)

c0ck off c*nty.
i did try but my belly got me stuck,my wife had to reverse the car off me

i would have a go at doing it myself as ive tackled many jobs on my own with previous cars.....but to be perfectly honest, given the choice id rather throw some cash his way as its his own business. he's not long started out so its nice to see him right as he's done me favours in the past.
