Sorry if I’ve posted in the wrong forum guys so I thought this would be my best bet.

looking to paint my callipers and found a can of fortress metal paint in the shed, is this okay to paint my callipers with? And if so has anyone used it before hand? Saves me spending £30 quid on some new paint if so!

cheers

Considering how hot your calipers get and the dust that comes off of them, for the sake of £30 get some specific caliper paint.

I think I’ll get some specific stuff, was just on the off chance it would work as I know quite a lot of people use hammerite metal paint

Hammerite normal smooth metal paint is perfect for calipers.

never had an issue with paint bubbling from the heat.

i would recommend smooth silver and dab it on with a brush will look OEM

painting stock calipers fancy colours is not my bag why highlight that you have crappy single pot calipers.

coloured calipers are for decent setups worthy of drawing attention to

No only 1-5hp not 10-15%

Where as fake caliper covers:

- Reduced power by 5hp.
- Increase in the chance of death in a huge fireball by 10%
- Increase in the chance of death in a brake failure related accident 25%
- Increase chance in being pointed and laughed at 1,000%

I painted the calipers on my BMW Z4 2 years ago with Hammerite Smooth Metal and its holding up well. Certainly someting I'd use again when they need redoing in a couple more years.
