Anyone shed any light on a P0299 turbo underboost fault with a pd170? I’ve changed the turbo and actuator, the fault clears and comes back after persistent reduced performance. Can’t see any boost leaks above the average for these pipes. It’s fine for a few minutes when cold then when it gets warmer it starts faulting. Please don’t tell me my engine needs a head as this is why I replaced my other one do I need to do a basic setting on the actuator? Read it with another machine and it’s says “charge pressure regulation control limit not reached - short with power intermittent” Help help help I need this fixed

Not as of yet no as it was fully functioning before I took the engine out. I’m going to try that it was my next move just hard to get parts just now. I have an auto spark coming to have a look also tomorrow. I’ve been at this car for weeks checking wiring and boost pressure values. It’s perfect when it’s stone cold, soon as it gets a bit of warmth it plays up. And I’m far too deep in money with it to give up now!

Because the car had no performance related issues before I decided to swap the engines over. It was overheating and I diagnosed it as the head needing done. Which it already had done a few years ago so instead of skimming the head again I got another fresh engine. The requested boost and actual boost pressure are around 1000milibar apart just now, 2600 on full throttle when cold, above 50degrees it is down to 14/1500 with the request still at 2600. Something electrical I’m thinking. A short between the sensor on the turbo and Ecu maybe but I will try that valve and report my findings. Thanks for the suggestion

Fault fixed. Number 1 injector was dropping out intermittently so it wasn’t faulting and traceable via computer. Intermittently I would get a clear rev when warm and all injectors would work, number 1 would drop out and come back every so often. This would cause the car to struggle when hot as it would just be strangling the air and fuel mix and cause low boost pressure. Thank god this has gone.
