At last we are getting somewhere. Just had a call from my Seat dealer. They are going to change the 2.1 head unit for a 2.2 one. This is doing what Seat advised could only be done at the factory!

Where is your dealer? My dealer could not do anything with my system.

Ipswich - They were contacted by Seat on Friday. If the problem isn't fixed - they get the car back!
Thanks for the info. Spoke to customer care again and they confirmed that it can not be changed. My dealer is now ignoring my calls, emails etc. Will have to write an official letter to the dealer as advised by Trading Standards. Getting rather tired of chasing them.

Write to your dealerand head the letter "Sale of Goods Act 1979". You need to state that the car is not as described in the sales brochure and that they (the dealer) are in breach of contract and allow them 14 days to sort it out. Send it by recorded delivery and see what happens.

The 2.1 system is fine, honest! I had bluetooth voice activation on my last FR and I can hand on heart say that the phone function on 2.1 is much quicker just by touching a couple of menus on the touch screen.

Also, the Sat Nav - yes it doesnt have 7 digit post codes but I have never had to enter one yet because it starts with country, town, street etc when you program an address. Its easy peasy!

Just been called by the dealer to say our fr+ tsi is on the ship heading to the Uk from the factory.

Hopefully it will have v2.2 installed.

Does anyone know if new deliveries recently have been coming with 2.2 now or still 2.1??

Had another call from Seat now offering £200 in accessories. Is your dealer Cox of Ipswich? When is your car booked in?

I have been told by my dealer that my 2.2 system will be available in 4 weeks to replace the 2.1 system the car was supplied with. They will then swap the head units over.

Thanks that's good news as I picked up my Fr+ Saturday and it came with the old media system!

The information (in an email) the garage provided me with stated that the car came with media system 2.2 and nothing else was said about it until I picked up the car saturday morning when I noticed it that it wasn't right! I pointed out to the salesman then that it was wrong and he told me to contact seat customer service about it!

How am I not surprised! If you were spending a few quid then they could be forgiven but when you are parting with £20k+ its a joke. Don't forget you made the deal with the garage not Seat so it's up to the garage to put it right. If you start talking to Seat customer services you'll get nowhere - just upset! My "sale of goods act" letter did the trick - your garage wont want your car back! so let your garage do the leg work on your behalf because Seat are in breach of contract with them. Good luck!

Well my fr+ is at the dealers waiting prep and then delivery to me next Wednesday. I've asked them to check it has 2.2 and the said it has (though I think based on the internal memo and build week rather than actually checking the car!).

Sounds like I'm going to be in suspense as to what version I actually get until I see the car!

Good Im glad to hear that it's arrived, one question how long did it take? Also I spoke to Seat customer services this morning and they've just called me back saying that a few cars went out with the old system! However they were more than helpful and will be arranging to get it swapped out ASAP though that won't be soon enough!

A few, 400 -500 at last count! My car was delivered in July so it's taken 8 weeks to sort it. Mind you we had to go through the "no it can't be done crap first", so really about 3 weeks since the 2.2 unit was ordered. Apart from this I'm very pleased with the car - getting 50mpg nearly all the time

Finally been told that my 2.1 system can be swapped for a 2.2 but it will take 3-4 months...I guess I have to wait and be patient.
