3 to 4 months! Why so long? Mine went from 1 week to 4 weeks then back to 2 weeks so you may get it sooner!

Its on back order...There is a waiting list as you can imagine...As long as the unit is changed I cant complain.

My FR+ went back to the dealers yesterday to have the 2.2 system fit. The unit now works a treat with the 7 digit post code entry so all is good with the world. Now who was it that told me this couldn't be done and that the unit was a factory fit only? - ah yes that'll be Seat customer service! Thanks to Cox of Ipswich for sorting it out!

Ive just emailed Seat Customer services asking about an update for the 2.1 and when it will be available....This is 2011 and to only have 5 digit postcode search is quite frankly a joke!!!

Hi all, sorry to BUMP this, but:

Hows everyone got on with either getting their 2.1 swapped for the2.2, or whats the most amount of accessories they have got out of SEAT as a goodwill Gesture?

My new FR+ came with 2.1, and they have offered me £100 with of accessories, but just wondered how far other people have managed to push em?

Cheers!

Don't bother with the £100 goodwill gesture - 'cos that's all it is. Insist that your dealer replaces the head unit or the car! Use the sale of goods act as your lever - it will work!

My 2.2 unit has arrived at another dealer as I refused to deal with the dealer where I purchased the car from. The system will be fitted on Tuesday.

Had my 2.2 system installed on Tuesday and now everything works great. To all having problems do not give up and do not take money for something that can be changed and works and up-to-date. Good luck to everyone having issues...

Hi guy! I'm having problems with my dealer! I bout a car that was already in the showroom. But was given the current broacher. Although the dealer did not specify that it was a 11 model he quoted from the 12 broacher and also told me that it had voice controls which mine does not. Wen contacted him he said that as the car was in the showroom I bought wat I saw and will not even consider any kind of compo! Do I still have the right to demand the 2.2?

How long ago did you buy it? You usually have a 14 day cooling off period - if you go back and say you don't want the car any more, I'd guess they would be a bit more inclined lol.

Just a few questions. I have a December 2010 Cupra R with the 2.0 Media system. It has full 7 digit postcode search, and the latest 2011 map update (Made sure they gave me the most upto date maps when purchasing the car).

It has the voice control feature but what exactly can it be used for? For making calls, entering info into the sat nav etc?

I was also given two discs, one for the UK and IRL and the other for Europe. Do the Sat-nav discs have to be in at all times to ensure the sat nav works or is there anyway to install the maps onto the media system?

On media 2.0 like mine you can install the navigation info on to a SD card therefore you don't need the disc in.
As far as I'm aware the voice commands can only be used for the phone ie dial name or delete phonebook or save name etc.
Hope that helps.

I have just bought an MY2011 Leon FR. It has 2.1 and 5 digit PostCode search. This is useless.
I also find I cannot zoom to a point on the map like I can withTom Tom
Is there an update available yet that allows a 7 digit Post code? Or the ability to input a Map Grid Reference?

has anyone had problems syncing their phone books?

i get the message that it the download begins, then a short while later a message saying unable to complete.

Everything else works brilliantly, just bummed about the phone book part

Hi Brownbear

I have mostly used my 2.2 system with Android phones and the phone book loading works very well with these. I updated a few contacts the other week and the next time I connected via BT the display gave me warning that it was updating the phone book. The two Android phones are ZTE Blade and a Huawei G300 and apart from that the only other phone I have connected to the media system was an old Samsung Tocco and the phone book up-load did not work at all on that.

Sound like a compatibly issue.

Hi

Point one, this is fixed in the 2.2 system and I don’t think you can upgrade although there is a thread about this somewhere in here so this may have changed since I last read it.

Second point, sill the same in the 2.2 system and you are right, it is pants.

Third point, answered in point one, the only thing to add is you can add coordinates using the SD card but requires you to go to a web site and download the POI.

http://www.volkswagen-nav-companion.de/results.jsf

A bit long winded but the short explanation is to use Google maps and zoom into the point of interest, right click and select the “What’s Here” tab, this will display the coordinates at this point, copy the coordinates into the link above and download the file it gives you, put it on a SD card, put SD card in the Media system and that will load into navigation and the sat-nav will take you to that point.

I said it was long winded.:D

Just to add, I am not sure if the SD thing works on the 2.1 system so trial and error I am afraid to say.

think you meant 2.1 chris in point 1, 2.2 has full post-code integration and optional map viewing i.e. 2D, 3D etc
SD works on 2.2, but not really worth it as the 'flash drive' dominates (but can be updated via the SD).
have to say, i'm pretty content with the system, esp navigation with miles i do
