Hi,

I have been offered a standard Freetrack TSI for swap for my Octavia VRS TFSI (Stage 1 remap, B12 Suspension, Uprated RARB etc). and I am tempted !

I do miss 4 wheel drive and just wondered how the drive would compare to the Octavia, a bit softer suspension no doubt but reckon remapped would be great to drive with the 4 wheel drive.

Appreciate any feedback from Freetrack drivers !

It's like having a 5 seater MPV ON Adrenaline. 4x4 is awesome. Stage 1 with minimal mods will achieve approx 250bhp, stage 2+ will get you to approx 290bhp. If your not going off road or safari then use mk5 golf gti platform based lowering kit and it will sit low. A set of 18"s finish it off well. I just wish they made the tfsi with dsg, it would have been my perfect family s3.

Based in derby, it's on bilstein b8s and eibach springs. Sits a little higher on front.

Cool Leicester here. Just test drove a diesel one and was great to drive. Was that a bilstein b8 and eibach pro kit for a MK5 Golf ?

I’ve recently been on a 6 week euro trip so have got used to the normal running of my tfsi.

I took it to ecotuning in Weston-Super-Mare for a remap after some recommendations & reading their reviews.

What a difference. Quoted approx 240bhp and 260lb torque. Power delivery seems to match the graph shown before I went ahead , so not a gradual curve but I’ll learn, in lower gears its like having v-tec from 3000rpm when pushed but the most surprising is 6th at motorway speeds (for overtaking of course) , it just takes off. Certainly the best £240 I’ve spent on it so far and has transformed its performance.

Booked in for a cat back exhaust with Infinity in August , just deciding on whether to stick with standard tips , 3” round or even twin exit.

Next maybe the revo intake but £300+ seems a lot for 10bhp , I’ll see if the exhaust frees up some extra first.

Bigger brake setup will then be on the cards as even with new discs and pads they had felt inefficient before the remap.

Going to keep suspension and wheels as they are, its helpful at work ‘in the sticks’ and I also meet many speed bumps in Europe.

New tyres in October , thinking of getting crossclimate+ , I can buy at Costco for £120 a corner atm. Have Goodyear on now but CC+ are getting better reviews.

Now if I can find another low mileage tfsi and keep in storage for future use.

Thanks for the info, stage 1 most say not much point in induction kit other than noise, you may lose a bit torque lower down and gain more top end. Revo is supposed to be one best.

Well the remap highlighted the fact that the boost pressure valve n75 was playing up. Limp mode occasionally after 4k rpm in 3rd and 4th the last couple of weeks.
After a quick diagnosis at eco-tuning the part was ordered and fitted today.
What a bitch to change , SEAT engineers had a laugh with this one.Its buried in the engine compartment with 2 bolts holding it in place.
Ended up with the o/s wheel arch lining out and half a tool box tried to get at the offending bolts with lights above and below to see their position.
An hour and a half in total.
Car running better straight away, no more vtec like boost, its now a steady power curve and pulling like a train.
N75 was original so lasted 83k.
