I've headed down south for Easter to see the family, and I was very impressed with the Ibiza! Had the ACC at 70, traffic wasn't really flowing any faster and there are now so many cameras it's not worth going any quicker, plus I was tired and a touch hung over (had left plenty of time before getting behind the wheel, but still not feeling perfect). By the time I got from Manchester to Gloucester services the 'from start' fuel economy was showing 60.6 mpg! When I'd got to my parents it had dropped a bit, but was showing as 58.1 mpg for the 220 miles. This is far better than I'd ever got in my old Fabia, which had the 90PS 1.2.

It seems though that the car is affected by speed and hills a lot more than the Fabia was. Cruising at 80 is noticably worse than 70, whereas there wasn't as much of a difference in the Fabia. It also dropped by more in the hilly southwest than the Fabia used to.
