Glow plug light flashing / led brake lights

I bought these led brake/tail lights from ultraleds.co.uk last week. They arrived today and I fitted them on my Leon FR Tdi. I tested them and they worked fine. Later when I was driving the glow plug light came on and started flashing continuosly. I did a search on here and found it could be caused by faulty brake lights. I changed the leds back to the original bulbs and the glow plug light stopped flashing.

I've just been down to the stealers and told them what happened. They said I couldn't use these led bulbs as they have a circuit on them and that the engine management system thinks that there is an error if I use them. Is this right? Does anyone know if there's any way of getting the leds to work without the glow plug light coming on?

Cheers

Ok, I'v just done another search and realise the problem is to do with resistance (or the lack of) from led lights. Is there a simple fix? AM I right in saying a load resistor would solve the problem? Does anyone know what type I need and where it is fitted?

Thanks!

Just for anyone searching forums as this is an old post, you need a resisitor inline with led fittings as the led lights dont have a decent resistance. We have this problem on buses when we fit led tail light clusters. It causes the indicator tell tale to go mad till we fit resistors!!
